Activating Inbox by Gmail without using app - Problem solved for Windows phone users!

Inbox by Gmail is a feature-rich email platform. It goes beyond what we find in normal emails.

However this is invitation only feature. You can request to get an invitation by sending mail to inbox@google.com and Google will provide you an invitation mail to use Inbox.

The problem comes to use people like me who uses Windows phones. Google didn't add the Windows phone app activation feature. In order to activate one needs to have Android Phone or iPhone. This is certainly a problem for Windows phone owners!

However there is a solution!

With the following tricks you can manage to activate Inbox without any Android phone or iPhone. In fact you can manage to activate it without any phone at all. Once activated Inbox can be used in normal web environment. You need to use Chrome to use Inbox. Inbox is located at inbox.google.com

Step 1: First request for an invitation by sending mail to Google: inbox@google.com
If you have a friend who has Inbox activated they can send you an invitation as well.

Step 2: Once you get the invitation mail from Google, please note down the token code from that mail.

Step 3: Append the token after the following URL and go to that link:
https://mail.google.com/mail/btinvites/mobilesecondary?token=

If the above link doesn't work, use this link:
https://mail.google.com/mail/btinvites/mobile?token=

You should get an activation mail. Now you can use Google Inbox! Problem solved for Windows Phone users!

Enjoy :)
